Japan Tour last day

Last day in Japan and the last night. Lovely hotel clean and great service. Food - good breakfast variety. Coffee - looking for to have a proper one in Sydney .
The staff is very friendly which is so good. Rooms- small 2 beds pushed together but I was stuck between them during the night at one stage.

Hamamatsu Castle is located nearby.

It's an 18-story hotel. Hamamatsu Castle is right next door. The customer service was passable, and they didn't keep customers waiting. Mineral water was provided free of charge. The lobby on the first floor is spacious. It has a high ceiling and marble floor, giving it a luxurious feel. The room was spacious enough for a business hotel. The beds are apparently Simmons! Most business hotels these days have large public baths, but unfortunately this one didn't. We were on the 12th floor, so the Hamamatsu cityscape spread out outside the window. It looks like Hamamatsu Castle is on the other side.

Simple, Practical Accomodation with Great Customer Service

My family and I stayed at the Hotel Concorde for 5 days in August, and we enjoyed a lovely and very memorable experience during our stay.
The lobby is very big, but furniture and decor is a little dated and could do with an eventual renovation. A good front desk/reception staff is the hallmark of a great hotel. As non-Japanese visitors to a less frequented area of Japan, we expected to have some difficulties communicating in Hamamatsu. Though this was largely the case, we were pleasantly surprised at the lengths hotel staff would go to in order to ensure we had a good experience. We arrived at around noon, earlier than the supposed 3pm check-in time. Our luggage from Tokyo had been sent via luggage delivery service, and the front desk informed us that all our luggage would be kept securely in the room and would be available upon check-in. We passed the time in the hotel restaurant - understandably, some staff could not understand us at first but made every possible effort to try and communicate with us. The hotel restaurant (which also serves daily buffet breakfast, lunch, and à la carte dinner) had a decent selection and we found it sufficient for our needs.
Upon check-in at 3pm, we received complimentary water bottles and a single physical key to our room. Unfortunately, this is the only key, making staying in a room with other people a little inconvenient. Elevators are fast and frequent, offering access to coin laundry, food and beverage vending machines, ice machines, an unagi and a Japanese restaurant, as well as guest rooms. An amenity station is provided at the entrance to each floor, where guests can help themselves to instant tea and coffee, toiletries, and even a clothing press.
Rooms are basic but clean and practical. Adapters are provided upon request. There are robes and slippers within the drawers, a bag for dirty towels, and tea bags. One feature my family appreciated was a laundry status channel on the television, in which guests can see which laundry machines are in use, and how much time each has left. Our room had an amazing view of the Hamamatsu City Hall and the Hamamatsu Castle. The housekeeping schedule can be variable - there was one day where the maids were just getting started on our room at 3pm. However, cleaning seems to be fast and efficient.
In terms of location, we eventually settled on the Hotel Concorde due to its proximity to a friend's apartment. It is about a 15-minute walk from the Hamamatsu train station. A Family Mart is located just across the street, and there is a beautiful Starbucks location in the Hamamatsu Castle park. Taxis don't seem to pass by the area too often, but hotel staff can always make a call for you. Though there isn't a large selection of restaurants nearby, most locations are within a 10-minute walk.
I want to highlight and commend the efforts of the front desk staff. Despite the large language barrier, each person was friendly and welcoming, greeting us whenever we passed by the lobby. When sending our luggage back to Tokyo at the end of our stay, we even noticed that they had remembered our names. They did not hesitate to call a taxi, make restaurant suggestions and reservations, or even recommend alternate travel methods due to the typhoon. We thank Satou-san, Fujiwara-san, and all the other members of the front desk team for enhancing our stay. The level of service at this hotel is on par with some of the most premium hotel brands, and I was thoroughly impressed.
Overall, we were happy with the Hotel Concorde and would return the next time we are in town. 4.5/5 stars, with only small complaints about room/lobby decor and buffet options.

Spacious but basic

We stayed here for one night as part of a group tour en route from Kyoto to Mt Fuji. The arrival at the hotel was organized and easy - our room was the largest of all the accommodations on the tour in Japan. The decor was basic and dated but clean and comfy. We LOVED the seating area and cot up early to sip tea there, overlooking the nearby park and watching locals do their morning tai chi, etc. Breakfast here offered a lot of options - my husband was keen on the eel rice, and I liked the fruits and jellies. Even with all the options, it was just an okay meal.
We planned on eating at the onsite Japanese restaurant for dinner but found it closed upon arrival. Not wanting to eat at the buffet, we actually ventured to the Starbucks across the parking lot on the edge of the park - which was a beautiful location, and we found no problem having a light supper there. We didn't notice any other nearby restaurants, but there was a Lawson across the street.

It’s a business travel type hotel-utilitarian, not luxury. Walking distance to a cute town with good restaurants. Breakfast was above average for food choices.
