Luxury, Warmth, and the Soul of Nubra Valley
Some places impress you with luxury, while others leave a lasting imprint through the people who bring them to life. Champa Camp Diskit gave us both.
As part of the Defender Exploration with Cougar Motorsports, we arrived in the heart of the magical Nubra Valley, where creating comfort is no easy task. Yet the team at Champa Camp has achieved something remarkable. The tents are beautifully maintained, exceptionally comfortable, and luxuriously appointed—all without losing the authentic spirit of the Himalayas. Considering the remoteness and logistical challenges of this region, what they have created is truly admirable.
What made our stay unforgettable, however, was the hospitality. Every member of the team welcomed us with genuine warmth and went far beyond what was expected to ensure our group had a memorable stay. The campfire they organized became one of those evenings we’ll always remember—not just because of the setting, but because the team stayed with us late into the night, serving us with smiles and making us feel less like guests and more like family.
A special mention goes to Neelu, the only female member of the team. She guided us through the village and the monastery with patience, kindness, and quiet confidence. The four-hour walk, which could have been just another excursion, became one of the highlights of our journey. Her local knowledge and thoughtful guidance turned it into a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The food was another pleasant surprise. Every meal was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully balanced, and consistently delicious. The chefs happily accommodated our group’s individual preferences, and every meal brought everyone together with smiles around the table.
We left with wonderful memories, but also with one thought—we didn’t stay long enough. We will certainly return, not just to revisit Champa Camp, but to slow down and experience the beauty of Nubra Valley at a more relaxed pace.

Awesome Stay
After a long drive from Leh checked in stressed, leaving completely ZEN. Camp Chamba at Diskit works pure magic.

The staff is exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making you feel welcome right away. A special thanks to **Susheel**, whose warmth and personal attention made our stay truly special. Also a special mention for **Nilu**, with whom Tom played nice games of backgammon.

Ik vond het geweldig!
I had a great time at Champ Camp Diskit. Everyone was very kind, friendly, and welcoming, which made me feel at home. The tents were very comfortable and made the stay even more enjoyable. I especially enjoyed spending time with Nilu, playing chess and many different games together. She taught me several new games, and I learned a lot from her. It was an amazing camp, and I would definitely recommend it to others.
