Magical views, great location, wonderful welcome
We stayed for four nights with our young teens and all of us agreed this was our favourite holiday accommodation ever. We walked around the beautiful bay from the ferry and rang the mobile number on arrival at Caldera Studios - within 2 minutes the owners arrived and greeted us like old friends. We had apartment 2 which has a penthouse /mezzanine bedroom area with comfy beds and a WC and access onto the rooftop where there is a hot tub and swing chair looking out onto the twinkly lights of the tiny port town and up to the castle on the Chora. It was magical. There was a bottle of wine, coffee pods and snacks/fruit juice left out for us in the clean and well provided kitchenette/lounge area downstairs, where there is a comfy sofa, TV and a table, and a smaller balcony with seating for 2/3 again overlooking the bay. Downstairs is also a full bathroom with rain shower and storage. There is a cool pool (quite deep - not an ideal pool for small kids but perfect for teens/adults to cool off) outside and down the steps, from which you can watch the boats sailing in and out. When I asked if I could pay to check out later to suit our evening ferry times, they said the timing of the next guests arrival meant that we could stay a few more hours and it was no problem which was so generous of them! We are already planning to come back and repeat our experience at Caldera Studios.

The location and the terrace are truly remarkable, but the maintenance and cleanliness of the apartment leave much to be desired.
The apartment has a very large terrace with a splendid view of the Chora and the port, an element that certainly represents its strong point. However, the interiors are not up to the potential of the property.
The rooms are poorly maintained and not particularly clean. The bathroom has a fake window and the second bedroom is equipped only with a small opening at the top, which is difficult to use. The air conditioner in the main bedroom emitted air at room temperature and not cold air, and the filters seemed not to have been cleaned for a long time. The shower curtain was visibly yellowed. The shower drain was full of hair. In the kitchen, numerous ants walked on the sink every day.
Upon our arrival, we found the terrace ashtray still dirty with ash, and the cushions on the chairs and sun loungers had several stains. The beach umbrella was broken, as was a chair.
The owner was not present at check-in: he arrived later, did not check our documents, and assigned us the apartment only after asking how many of us there were and for how many nights.
On the first day, upon returning from the beach, we found the living room half-flooded because the fridge was full of ice and the previous guests had set it to the coldest temperature possible; the cleaning man must have set it back to a normal temperature and all the ice melted, filling the living room with water.
In summary, the location and the terrace are truly remarkable, but the maintenance and cleanliness of the apartment leave much to be desired.
The owner could focus a bit more on quality by fixing up the house a bit and increasing the staff, and a bit less on quantity (of money to be made …).
PS: The Wi-Fi works very poorly.

The location of the property was amazing, the view was priceless. There was an error with our booking and we needed an extra night and we were accommodated, which was greatly appreciated.
The property was poorly maintained and not very clean. The rooms are not serviced. We were able to ask for what we needed, towels, extra linen.
We were able to clean our room and the floor ourselves when required.
Overall we had a great stay and the room accommodated our family of four.

The owner treated us very poorly. As soon as we arrived, he wanted to send us to another hotel because he said there was a problem (he'd given the room to someone else who was already settled in), even though I'd already paid for it in advance. The day we were leaving, he showed up screaming like a madman, saying we had to leave urgently.
The hotel, the location, and the views are excellent, but the owner's mistreatment is unacceptable. The employee was very nice and very polite. Poor thing, she has to put up with this person.
