Average

I stayed at the Hotel Rila for 1 night last July 15th, the experience was average, room with 3 single beds good but a bit hard, small TV and often not working, and a large window that disturbed sleep a bit.
The real flaw of the room is the bathroom, definitely not 4-star hotel quality, shower cramped in the corner without a door, toilet and sink dated.
The location of the property is excellent, it is located right in the center and is accessible to all the city's points of interest.

Terrible view (see photo) and noise from the outdoor fan

The view was terrifying over something that looked like a parking lot.
The bed was hard.
The refrigerator didn't cool down properly.
I was unable to set the temperature on the ventilation because it was broken.
So it was extremely hot, and when you opened the window, you had to hear a huge noise from a fan.
And when I approached the reception, the message was that not everyone could have a great view.
I'll never come again.

Price performance is absolutely okay!

I used the upgrade on the day of arrival for 14 euros per day, and as a result, I received a room on the top floor with air conditioning and a balcony. For 3 stars, it is absolutely fine. I have had 4-star hotel rooms that were not nearly as good. I did not book breakfast due to other reviews, but 50 meters to the left around the corner is a great Italian bakery with very delicious baked goods and great cappuccino! It is right in the center and not far from the train (good connection to the airport).
Clear recommendation!

It was an older hotel but well maintained and located in an excellent area with plenty of shops and cafes. I would most definitely stay here again if I ever came back to Sophia.
