Suncourt Hotel Taupo…Super!

Our Travel Agency - First Light Travel - arranged the perfect month long trip around New Zealand and Suncourt was a wonderful stop in Taupo. While my husband went fly-fishing, I had the opportunity to wash & dry clothes…right next door to our room. Very clean facility. Our balcony overlooked the lake so the breezes were incredible. Enjoyed the local farmers market which is situated in front of the hotel - one day a week.
I want to make a point here to Americans especially…do not be “wary” of the motels in New Zealand. They are pristine and outfitted with everything you could want:
Hairdryers, coffee, tea & chocolate mixes,instant hot water pots, sugar, milk,
Espresso machines, irons, ironing boards.
It’s amazing!
As for catching up on the news at home?
We had Fox in some places and AlJeezera
In others …and then of course we had our phones.

Very comfortable

The place was very tidy and comfortable. Carparking Excellent. Staff are all very friendly. Would highly recommend. And a big thank-you to the cleaning staff and Tui at reception - who was very welcoming, bubbly and excellent to deal with.

Stunning hotel & well worth it, great location

Absolutely stunning Hotel and location, right on the lake and a very short walk into town. Service, room and all the staff were spot on and the BED !! I have never slept in a more comfortable bed ever, if I could have got the mattress in my suitcase I would have paid the hotel for it. Didn't eat in the restaurant as we already had plans but the comments I kept hearing as people were leaving certainly told me how impressed they were. Well done Suncourt Hotel

Overall a Great Hotel.

Positives: Beautiful, clean rooms with lovely views from upstairs. Both lovely receptionists. The location was perfect by the lake with no buildings in front and just a really short walk to the town centre.
Negatives: Awful, old, saggy mattresses that spoilt our sleep; no Sky TV in particular, Sky Sports.

Great hotel with wonderful views of Lake Taupo. Really easy walk into town. Great restaurant attached too. Would stay again.
