We never got out of the car. The place looked like it was out of business. There were homeless people laying down on the cement around the building and parking lot with shopping carts of their stuff. We called hotels.com and explained what we saw, they said no one answered the phone when they tried to contact them. Got an email the next morning that they would not refund our money. I didn’t feel good about my car being in the parking lot let alone going in the place.

Staff over charged took a long time to fix the problem. Bathroom filthy especially the tub/shower. Hallways dirty and smell. Paint chipped and scratched up.

Hot tub - there is NOT. Pool room smells badly of black mold. Everything is dirty and outdated. The carpets looked like they havent been cleaned maybe ever..Breakfast was continental - no hot bar / eggs of any kind. DON'T BE DECIEVED BY THE PICTURES! And Don't stay here.

The lady at the front desk said that my kids could not come see me or swim with me and then had issues with other guest and the front desk never said anything about it to him so I will never go back and will be telling everyone not to stay there

A Nightmare Experience
they dont deserve even one star and may be negative stars are better.
My stay at Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Grand Rapids Near Downtown was far from pleasant, riddled with issues that left me deeply dissatisfied. Here's a detailed experience of the problems I encountered during my visit:
1. Stinky Bed Sheets and Blanket
The moment I entered the room, an unpleasant odor greeted me. The bed sheets and blankets smelled as if they hadn’t been laundered for weeks or some has done pee. It was unbearable, and I had to sleep without using them, which made for an uncomfortable night.
2. Stains on the Carpet
The carpet was visibly dirty, with large, discolored stains in several places. It not only looked unsightly but also made me question the overall hygiene of the room. attached photos speaks clearly what I mean.
3. Broken Writing Table
The writing table in the room was broken and completely unusable. Since I needed a workspace, this was a significant inconvenience. It looked like it hadn’t been repaired despite being visibly damaged for quite some time.
4. Washroom in a Horrible Condition
The washroom was in a deplorable state. The tiles were broken, cracks ran across tap and shower, and it was clear that no maintenance had been done for a long time. The overall condition was uninviting and unhygienic.
5. Bathtub Issues
The bathtub was one of the most unappealing parts of the room. Its surface was peeling off, and to make matters worse, the water was clogged. Standing water in the tub created an unhygienic environment and rendered it unusable.
6. Cockroaches in the washRoom
Finding cockroaches in the washroom was the last straw. It was shocking and disgusting to see these pests crawling around, which raised serious concerns about the hotel’s cleanliness standards.
7. Unresponsive Front Desk
When I tried to report these issues, there was no response from the front desk. This lack of service was incredibly frustrating and made me feel helpless in addressing numerous problems.
8. No Phone in the Room
To make matters worse, there was no phone in the room to contact the front desk at night. This added to the inconvenience and forced me to go in person to seek assistance—only to find unresponsive staff.
Overall Experience
This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve ever had. The room was poorly maintained, hygiene standards were abysmal, and the staff's lack of responsiveness made the situation even worse. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless they significantly improve their cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service.
If there is something called Management then they needs to take immediate and serious action to address these issues to prevent future guests from having such a terrible experience. Anyone need any more proof or more details, feel free to contact anytime.
