Incredible experience

An incredible stay...
We marked this hotel on top of the hour and already in Florence and it was amazing the experience.
Staff very friendly all but I have to highlight Erida who was at our check in and by coincidence was also at our check out, super available and helpful of an incredible sympathy.
The rooms were very comfortable and clean, quiet.
Breakfast delicious and with immense variety, staff always repairing what was missing and always super friendly.
Incredible location and even in the historic center 5 min walk from the Duomo, Miguel Ángel Museum and all other sights.
We really liked the hotel and would definitely recommend everyone visiting Florence.
Congratulations and continue the great work.

Nothing like a Four-Star Hotel....very disappointed

My husband and I visited Florence in early April, 2025. I must preface my review by telling you we came from the most enjoyable hotel experience in Sorrento at the Antiche Mura Hotel.
This hotel, in our opinion, Room Mate Luca was far below average. We arrived in the late afternoon on a weekday. No bellhop. No one to help us upstairs with our bags. We stand at the reception desk for 15 minutes while a blond woman takes her time doing all of our paperwork.
Finally we go upstairs. Our room is on the first floor last door down the darkest hallway we have ever encountered. Black ceilings, poor lighting. You could kill yourself walking down this hallway.
We get into the room. Ambient temperature 85 degrees F. Sun blasting in the windows. My husband tries to put the air on to cool off the room. NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! I go downstairs to see why we can't get air conditioning. It worked beautifully in Antiche Mura in Sorrento.
Apparently, Room Mate Luca doesn't have access to the A/C at this point in time. We sweated horribly in that room. They gave us a fan which just moved the arid air around. No screens on the windows. We tried opening them and later caught 3 mosquitos. So we had to keep the window closed.
The view from the window was as pictured below. No balcony.
They did offer to change our room but by that time, we had unpacked, we're already so aggravated and weren't interested.
The breakfast was ok. About half the choices of Antiche Mura. Very few sweet choices. Alam and his assistant were great. They were always willing to help.
The location was just so-so.
For the price, this hotel is definitely not worth it. Four stars....um...no.
Grossly disappointed.

Regarding your accommodation, we regret that the room assigned was not to your liking and immediately offered to change your room to one on the upper floor with a balcony
Since we have a centralized heating and cooling system, at this time of year, with external temperatures around 14°C, the system is set to heating mode.
We prioritize customer care and strive to meet and exceed our guests' expectations, for this reason we are truly sorry that this time we did not have the chance to do so.
Hoping to welcome you back in the future so that we can earn another opportunity to showcase Room Mate Luca.

An amazing stay at Room Mate Luca

The hotel is in a convenient location, about a 10 minute walk from the Duomo. The railway station is about 15 minutes away. The reception staff were very helpful and approachable, with nothing being too much trouble. There was a great variety of tasty food for breakfast and the staff eg Anam were very accommodating and helpful. We took our time each morning but never felt rushed. The triple room we shared was very clean and modern, with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, a hairdryer, toothbrush and paste, plus a complimentary bottle of red wine. There was also an adaptor and a plug-in repellant for mosquitos. There was a very popular and quirky restaurant nearby, called Za Za where the food was very reasonably priced and delicious. It's a good idea to book, otherwise you need to queue. We also ate at a nearby restaurant called Garibaldi, which was really good.

Best hotel , experience and staff by far

We are on a family holiday, started in Venice and Florence was our 2nd stop, we are now in Rome, what a difference in experience amongst the cities ..Florence was by far our best experience..the hotel Room Mate Luca was in another class..beautiful and modern rooms..clean and spacious..if ever in Florence again that will definitely be our go to hotel. Aman at breakfast was so wonderful and warm, great people's skills and his hospitality was next level. Staff at RML was absolutely warm and friendly and very welcoming. Assisted us with directions and tips while traveling in Florence...we couldn't wait to get back to our hotel after a busy day out touring. Thank you to all the staff at RML(Elenora, Andre and Aman- you are special people).we enjoyed our stay tremendously at your hotel...we sang our praises to the family back home of the stunning hotel..keep it up!

Excellent and central hotel

Very good hotel at reasonable price. Very good cleanliness. They take great care of the details. Very comfortable beds. Good quality and very new bed linen and towels. Very original decoration but I found it nice. Great staff at both reception and breakfast. Always attentive to help. I have problems with gluten and I want to make a special mention to Mariam who was always aware that I will not lack anything I needed at breakfast. To this must be added how central it is. I felt at home. If I go back to Florence this will be my hotel.
