Holiday in Ascea marina
Small hotel, in the center but well soundproofed.
Well maintained and clean rooms, very nice.
AnaPaula (together with her staff) is very very attentive and helpful to every need of her customers.
Particularly appreciated the typical local cuisine very good (Only Recommendation, increase the choice of dishes including the appetizer)
Lido 5 min walk well equipped. Fantastic calessino of the hotel.

Home Sweet Home
Albergo Elea a little jewel in the heart of Ascea Marina. Anapaula's professionalism, Gino's friendliness and delicacies, the kindness of Grazia, Maria and all the staff made me and my partner feel at home, pampered from every point of view. Beautiful rooms, welcoming beach a few steps from the hotel. Thanks for everything... if possible we will definitely return. Stefania and Fabrizio

Super Super Super
My husband and I stayed for a week in this hotel, but more than a hotel I consider it a welcoming family home, in fact we immediately felt enveloped in human warmth. The kindness, courtesy, and availability of AnaPaula and Gino are super. The staff both at the hotel and at Sciabecco are attentive, helpful and friendly. A round of applause to all of you. A Jewel -- an inn such as you always hope for but seldom find.
The Albergo Elea is a jewel. Elea was the name of the nearby Greek city, home of the philosophers Parmenides, Zeno and Xenophanes. The ciy's site is now a fascinating and beautiful archaelogical park under the city's Latin name, Velia. The very choice of a name for the albergo reflects the high standards the owners set for themselves.
For ten years, 2001- 2010, I took study-abroad groups from the University of Maryland to Italy for three weeks in January, our Winter Term. We always started in Ascea at the Albergo Elea for about five days. To be sure, we also saw Pompeii, Naples, Rome, Florence and sometimes Venice, but the students invariably loved the Albergo Elea best of the places we stayed. “There we were friends, almost family,” they said, “Everywhere else we were business.”
The proprietors of those years are no longer living but Ana Paula and Gino keep up the tradition. Gino is a master chef; everything he prepares is superb, and his range is wide. He delights to prepare for you something you have not had before. Ana Paula makes the simple structure of the albergo gleam with personal care and exquisite taste. Most of the clientèle is Italian, but Ana Paulo and Gino speak good English. She is from Brazil and is also happy to speak Portuguese or Spanish.
The Albergo Elea is open year round, and Ascea is delightful off-season. There is lots to do in fall, winter, and spring. Spend at least one day at Velia, just two kilometers away. Catch one of the frequent trains to Paestum, a 30 minute ride, and see three of the best preserved Greek temples in the world along with miraculously preserved Greek painting. Climb Monte della Stella for breath-taking views of the coast. Enjoy a program at Fondazione Alario. Walk along the beach for miles, explore the mysterious tunnel, follow a nature trail up to the old town, a rise of 900 feet. Explore the mountainous chestnut-growing back country around Novi Velia, or go on over to the Certosa di Padula. If you want to read about the history of the area in English, search the web for a book called Velia and the Cilento. Some of my students would swim in January, but not me. Gino is from the area and will help you see it.
To stay at the Albergo, you do need to be able to go up and down one or two flights of stairs.
Much of the recent archaeological work at Velia was done by scholars from Vienna; they always stayed at the Albergo Elea.

UNA PICCOLA BOMBONIERA!
Il titolo dice tutto. Piccolo albergo ma grande nella SOSTANZA e nella QUALITÀ.
Gino e Anapaula siete il numero 1 in gentilezza e professionalità.
Vi ringrazio inoltre per avermi aiutato con il mio problema di salute e in men che non si dica mi avete trovato un infermiere. Poi che dire dei siparietti tra Gino e mia mamma..... mitici e della gentilezza dello staff del lido " Lo Sciabecco".
