Great luxury hotel in Cusco. Love the courtyard. Good location and service.

Beautiful hotel, nice big rooms. Staff was helpful. The tour of the hotel (nightly) is not to be missed! We appreciated an upgrade to a couple of 2 room suites for our family of 5 (a credit card perk w amex). The bathrooms were large. Comfortable beds with lots of pillows. The courtyard is lovely and the fire pit was a nice feature in the cool evening. We enjoyed the fine restaurant and room service too. Breakfast was a literal feast every day! Fresh and delicious. We did the "water circuit' in the spa for an hour and that was fun (it was also a per person fee to use the small pool/hot tub/sauna/cold showers/steam shower that make up the "circuit"). The concierge, Badir Vega, was very helpful and arranged a photographer, Diego Nishiyama Villasante, for us for a several hours. Diego showed us around Cusco, and took wonderful family and individual photos and sent them to us a few days later. It was a fun tour, Diego knows a lot of neat places is Cusco. The location was good too.

Royal Experience

Best property and service of our entire stay in Peru. We loved the property from the moment we walked into the hotel, you do feel like you are staying in a Palace. The room was nice size with beautiful decor. Definitely a luxury stay.
The breakfast service is wonderful, we also dined in the restaurant. Everything is luxury at this hotel. Highly highly recommended.

Mixed luxury?

I understand the appeal of staying in a historic property in the heart of the old town — there’s character, charm, and a sense of place. But even with those allowances, there are a few areas where this hotel could make real improvements.
We were upgraded to an Imperial Junior Suite, which sounded impressive, but the experience was rather mixed. The room itself was spacious with high ceilings, but the bathroom was shockingly small — possibly the smallest I’ve encountered in any 5-star property. It barely fit one person at a time, and as my wife pointed out, taking a shower practically guaranteed a flooded floor. For comparison, our riverboat the following week had a 2x larger bathroom. A later stay at another historic hotel in Cusco revealed just how much more functional these spaces can be — that bathroom was easily ten times the size.
Our suite also faced a side alley, which meant we kept the small window shut for privacy and noise reasons, making the room feel a bit closed off.
Another issue was breakfast service. When the hotel is full, the restaurant simply can't keep up. Tables weren't cleared quickly enough, and there just wasn’t enough space to accommodate guests comfortably — something that shouldn’t happen at this level.
The location is decent — on the edge of the old town — close enough to walk to most sites, but not as central as other options.
That said, I want to end on a high note: the concierge team was excellent — professional, responsive, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay.

Historic Elegance

We selected this hotel to celebrate our anniversary and were blown away by the magnificence. It truly felt like a magical experience. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and kind, and responsive to every need. The hotel used to be connected to the Temple of the Sun and is quite historic. They even offer a hotel tour, which is a must do. We enjoyed the local ladies and men selling products in the square with their alpaca. Super convenient shopping at reasonable prices. The breakfasts were absolutely stunning. All kinds of good food with a live harp player. The location is perfect and central.
Do not miss this opportunity for a unique stay in historic Cusco!

Cusco’s Finest

The Palacio del Inka exudes class and refinement. Kind recognition of platinum status. Fantastic pisco sours. Great location for plaza del Armas, restaurants, stores and churches. Great timing with multiple parades and celebrations. Generous size rooms and comfortable beds. The shower is a little slippery. Bathrobes were small. Water fill up near lobby was big help with complimentary water bottles each day. great breakfast buffet but more importantly breakfast items to order including eggs and cappuccino. Hope you spend some time in the sacred valley before the elevation of Cusco. Staff is very attentive of safety and enjoyment of guests. Art tour and Inka ceremony were most appreciated.
