A nice surprise
We arrived in the morning after disembarking from a cruise. Our original hotel had some sort of issue and they rebooked us at the Hotel Port-Royal which was nearby. The staff were very accommodating and stored our luggage for us, even transferring it to our room so it was there when we returned later in the day. Our room was actually in a different building which was across the street. What a room and what a view! Check in and check out was a breeze, and even though I was initially worried about the rebooking we were definitely upgraded so it worked out in our favor. Plenty of restaurants close by and very close to one of the cruise ship docks (the other is about a 30-minute walk). Clean, quiet and well located for walking around Old Quebec.

Wonderful Hotel in Quebec City
This is a gem of a hotel. Everything about it was great. It’s perfectly situated close to the Old City but it is easy to get to and has decent parking. Our deluxe room was beautiful and comfortable in every way. The little kitchenette was very well equipped with a fridge of a size that was ample enough for some groceries.
It’s nice and quiet at night.
The restaurant Louise on site is excellent. My highest compliment goes out to the front desk staff. I called direct to make the reservation and spoke with Nicolas. He was so patient and polite. This was true for all the staff. They were truly welcoming and professional. I would rate this hotel ten out of ten. We will definitely be back.

Lovely hotel, but with a sting in the tail for me
I stayed here on a trip to Quebec City with some family at the end of August.
It is a very nice hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful in person. The adjoining restaurant was excellent and the location could not be better - by the water, close to outstanding restaurants, and a short walk to the old part of town.
There was a lot of construction going on outside at the time, though I suspect that is probably finished by now.
The unpleasant aspect of the trip was down to a charge that was taken from me that was not fully refunded. A couple of days into my stay, I noticed a pending charge to my bank account that was similar to the cost of the stay in the hotel, despite the fact that I had prepaid with Hotels.com.
When I queried this at the front desk, they very politely and pleasantly explained that, after I had checked in, they had accidentally charged me again instead of billing Hotels.com. I was assured that I would receive a full refund. When I got back to Ireland, I found I did indeed receive a refund, but that this was €50 less than what had been taken out of my account.
This seemed pretty clear to be due to fees associated with the international transfer for the refund (the card I had given at check-in was my Irish credit card). As I did not feel that I should be the one responsible for these fees given that the mistake had been the hotel's, I engaged Hotels.com to follow-up. Hotels.com, despite talking a good game and contacting the hotel for me, were ineffective and told me I had to follow-up with them myself.
The hotel took the stance that they had refunded what they had taken from me in error and then did not respond to my follow-up email.
Thus, despite it being a lovely hotel, I would not go back considering what I consider to have been theft of €50 from me - not a huge amount but enough to sting and to feel I had been made a fool of.
At this stage, I do not expect any recompense, but I am posting this so that others are forewarned so that they can avoid this happening to them.

Disappointing
Very good reception. But we did not have the room booked with stone wall. We had an old room with 80s style furniture. The floor was not clean and it was cold. Lots of cold air outside the windows. Unfortunately, it looked like the hotel had lacked maintenance. The hotel parking was complete. We had to go as soon as a public parking at $18.
