Perfect location for a school trip
In this hostel we have spent a working week with 40 students aged 14 and 15 years old. The staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast and dinner very good. Smooth communication with the hostel manager.
Rooms clean and spacious. You notice in everything that it is a family business and that everyone does their bit to make the guests feel at home. Location is also perfect, close to downtown. Highly recommended for a group trip, but also for individual guests!

Close, comfortable and nice
I have been visiting the hostel regularly in December for many years - always with a group of several dozen people to visit Berlin and enjoy the atmosphere of the Christmas markets. It is located in the center, close to Alexanderplatz - several minutes on foot. The area is calm, even quiet. The service was very nice and helpful, always attentive. The rooms are neat, without great comforts, but clean and inviting to rest. Breakfasts offer everything you can expect in the morning - bread, a large selection of additions and drinks to choose from. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

A very good hostel
We went to Berlin for an excursion with a group of c. 60history students from Utrecht University. Pegasus Hostel proved to be the excellent choice, because of the good and clean facilities, the good breakfast, and the good contacts we had with the hostel staff, both before and during our stay. I recommend Pegasus Hostel very much, also because of the almost unbeatable price-to-value ratio.

TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE / DO NOT STAY HERE / NOT SAFE FOR POC AND WOMAN
I have been to 28 countries and this is by the far the most TRAUMATIC and WORST experience I’ve ever had at a hostel / hotel. I felt unbelievably UNSAFE and threatened by the staff.
My friend and I had paid for late check out at the hotel. We had received a texted through booking.com that we could do a late check in until 3 pm if we paid 10 Euros each. We paid our 10 euros the night before check out and confirmed with the front desk. My friend woke up earlier than me and was out site seeing and I stayed in to sleep in. The cleaning staff starts banging on my door at 1:30 that we need to leave soon because they need to clean. I explained to her we have check out till 3 pm. My plan was to get up at 2:15 and pack up and head out. She seemed to have understood. Then, a front desk worker, a man with dark black hair and a beard comes to my door, starts knocking, and starts aggressively yelling at me that check out is at 2 pm as I am obviously standing there in my pajamas and without my glasses on, hardly able to see. I am trying to explain to him that we received a text from the hotel, I am physically trying to show him the text and he is continuing to dismiss me saying that he is not sure what platform it is on and basically insulting me saying me that I am lying. He is also demanding to show him my key card so I go inside and try to find it despite not being able to see. I show him the key card and he proceeds to ask for my key card holder claiming it has the proper information on it. I make an attempt to call my friend as she was the one that made the booking so she can explain the details of the text she got, how she got it, through what platform etc, I told him to talk to her while I go find the key card holder but he keeps trying to talk over me to which I replied “why are you grilling me like a cop.” To which he responded “if you don’t get out in 5 minutes, I’ll call the cops” and murming to himself that he won’t continue the conversation (despite the fact he kept interrupting me and would not listen).
As you can see below in the attached pictures the text and the key card holder with NO information on it regarding late check out.
My friend, a white woman, shows up and talks to him. He said “your friend was being rude so I threatened to call the cops” ????. BUT he also told her “after I talked to your friend, I realized I was wrong and there was miscommunication and you guys have more time.”
While talking to her, he also mentioned he usually calls the cops and throws people out so it seems like this is an ongoing occurrence.
I beg of you do NOT stay here. It’s beyond embarrassing that an institution that is supposed to pride itself on custom service and well being is threatening its customers with escalation and violence by abusing systems of power and getting the police involved. How he could not understand the fear it brings to confront a woman of color alone in her room and threaten her with police while she is still vulnerable in her pajamas and not even giving her the decency to put on her contacts. It’s beyond me this man got so intimidated by a 5 ft 4 brown girl in her pjs who is trying to calmly explain to him and threatening her with increased forces of escalation.
The lady with the black hair and the glasses when we first checked in was extremely nice and accommodating because of miscommunication between the text we got saying we could pay more to check in earlier on site / vs the policy being we would have to update the hostel in advance. Despite this miscommunication, she understood the confusion and frustration the text caused us and accommodated us to a room after we paid the euros per policy.
Additionally, the room smelled like mold and the shower head was unstable and sprayed everywhere making the entire bathroom wet.
A disgusting shower that soaked the entire bathroom and didn’t drain properly. I’m traumatized by the lack of proper communication and lack of compassion shown by the staff. Couldn’t even brush my teeth and pee before I got kicked out. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Pegasus hostel
Very good hotel and fantastic service. The people are very friendly and help you with al your problems! I would recommend it to anyone as you are always sure it will be good. We hope you have as nice a trip as we did.
