Uniquely beautiful and fabulous!! Been a guest for 15+ years!
As always , attention to detail is so appreciated here and rare to find!! Jeremiah in the lounge provided service above and beyond! Gabor should also be commended! ❤️ Aside from the commotion that the weekend weddings may cause, this hotel is 5star!!

Premier Inn have more spacious rooms
We paid for a super king suite but what we got was a superking bed in the attic. We were not told this when checking in.
With an interleading door to the next room we heard all the conversations and wondered if they could hear ours.
Walking in the room was uncomfortable at vital points eg getting in and out of bed and making coffee due to sloping ceiling on both sides.
The room was extremely hot but there was a portable air conditioner.
The levazza coffee was extremely bitter and very strong
The sloping bathroom window very dirty.
Nothing about this room screamed 5* we were totally mislead. We have stayed in bigger better rooms at Premier Inn and Holiday Inn for less money.
We turned down the Italian Suite once we saw it which we got as an upgrade only to be given this room as per our initial booking.
The Italian room has some exquisite furniture in the darkest dim room with poor lighting and one tiny window. A picture of an old woman staring down at you over the bed is misplaced.
The furniture is intricately carved but very dusty in the nooks and crannies no cleaning from one guest to the next would have the time to get that cleaned. The bathroom had a double ended bath and was extremely spacious with double sinks. The doors to the bathroom exquisite and I can see a premium to be paid for that room but all the faces and the darkness put us off.hence changing to our original room.
The meal we had in the grill made us giggle.
The pork on his plate was the size of my husbands thumb.two tiny spring onions and the rest of what were puréed
vegetables wouldn’t feed my grandson! My husband had a sandwich we purchased on the journey he was starving.
Where I see 5* are the grounds. I’m afraid places like Tylney hall or Oakley Hall have more internal appeal and are more tastefully decorated in my opinion…Lime green plastic chairs have no place in this beautiful hotel and the ancient furniture is lost and not highlighted. Not one person went to look at the fireplace dated 1561 in a full restaurant.
The Swimming pool was brilliant warm too.
I would return but wouldn’t stay based on my experience and the uncertainty of the rooms.
The Afternoon tea was lovely and the serving staff brilliant.

I have taken the time to look into your booking, and I can see that you were selected for a complimentary upgrade to our Italian Suite, which is a Master Suite within our room stock. I appreciate that the Italian Suite is not to everyone's taste with the style of room décor. The Italian Suite is one of our traditional rooms, which is full of history along with the building, with a lot of original features in there. Again, I do appreciate that the room is not to everyone's tastes, and once we were notified that you didn't want to stay in that room, we did source you an alternative room. The room that you were then allocated, was a Luxury King Room, of which is the standard of room that you booked upon your original booking. The room that you stayed in is located on the top floor of the Coach House wing of the Hotel, and does come with slanted ceilings. However, I can assure you that this room was the category that you originally booked. We have recently invested in new Air Conditioning in all the Coach House rooms, this room included within that upgrade. I will be checking the mechanics of the rooms AC to ensure that there is no malfunction or maintenance required. Our Housekeeping team are very strong, and keep all our Hotel bedrooms at a high standard of cleanliness. From my investigations, there were no comments during the stay about cleanliness to a Duty Manager to be given opportunity to rectify any issues whilst staying with us.
Thank you for your comments on our dinner, and menu options. Our food is produced by highly trained, fine dining chefs, and our reputation and feedback is always exceptionally high. The furniture within the restaurant is leather chairs, please do be assured that we do not have plastic chairs within our restaurants dining areas. Our chef has been made aware of your feedback to review within his menu and portion sizes - thank you for raising these. I am thrilled that you thoroughly enjoyed the Afternoon Tea that you participated in before your departure.

Beautiful surroundings disappointing rooms and management
Stayed here with my husband for some couples time. This is a beautiful historic hotel with spectacular gardens. Breakfast and dinner was good. However the stay was very pricey for what is advertised as a 5 star hotel. This is not a 5 star hotel. The super spacious king suite we booked was the equivalent of a spacious king room in most 4 star hotels and had a list of maintenance issues including a phone that didn’t work, a bath with a slow leak on the plug, light switch dimmers that fell off when pressed and blinds that didn’t block out the light. The room is also on the hotel website under the super spacious king suite section and is advertised as having a separate walk through part. It doesn’t, this is when the suite is used as an interconnecting room! I’m a big believer in face to face feedback so took my concerns to the manager who frankly would benefit from some training in managing 5 star hotel guest expectations. He gave me a small amount money off my dinner bill (I’d already paid for the majority of the meal). He wasn’t shocked at the mis advertising of the room on the website or the quality of the room but ‘took it on board.’he also explained the the dimmer switches do pop off that’s normal!!! Very disappointing. If you want a 5 star hotel I would advise don’t go here, go to Alexander house hotel part of the same chain, it’s superb and a true 5 star experience.

Service, Service, Service
Service at this hotel is unparalleled - friendliness, responsiveness, attention to detail were all on point. Our room (suite) was beautiful and comfortable. We also enjoyed a lovely outdoor lunch provided by the cocktail bar staff- excellent service and great food. Would highly recommend this property for a stay outside of London with easy access to the airport.

Great Fosters is More than Great!
We had the great pleasure of spending 10 nights at Great Fosters in April. “Spectacular” does not even come close to describing our experience! From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted with a genuine warmth from a multitude of staff. The estate is of true historical importance. The 50 acres of gardens are as romantic a scene as can be imagined! Our newly renovated room was exquisite, and we coveted the warm, happy atmosphere in the Cocktail Room each evening. Our heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude go out to the entire staff who we feel became friends. Everyone was top notch from the front desk staff of Jo, Gabor, Harry, Emma and Lewis, to the Cocktail Room staff of Rhys, Szillard and Gareth, to Elvia in food and drink, and the lovely Sue in housekeeping. We hope we remembered each and every name! It was such an extraordinary experience that we look forward to coming right back in 2026. Rebecca & Mike from the San Francisco Bay Area in California.
