Recommended place to stay!!!

Great experience! Very accomodating staffs. Well maintained facilities. Great service. The food was high quality dinner and breakfast. The stay was comfortable. The comfort rooms were newly renovated. We would be happy to come again. Affordable price.

Not recommended

Got a different experience than expected. I met a nice lady at the reception and there it stopped positive. First room we got was worn, dirty and smelled mold. It felt like the floor was going to fail when we stepped on it. I finally chose to ask for a room exchange. The receptionist came and was helpful, but pointed out that it was an old hotel. Next room did not smell mold at all and did not have floor that failed. Clean it was not, but could not complain again. I went to test the spa, which was the main reason we chose to book here. There was one pool with cold water so there was no bathing. The evening came and it was very hot in the room. Difficult to set the heat. Trying to ventilate, there was the baby safe broken so the window broke up. Not very safe in 3 etg. It was inhumane warm so during the night I had to use a clothing hanger to keep the window in proper opening. Was very listening, heard doors beating and water in pipes. The shower itself in the room is not tested, which for hygienic reasons is not tempted.
The elevator gives you a feeling that you live to make you value life. The breakfast was disappointing with sweaty cheese, eggs that tasted awful and only one type of bread to choose from.

I was disappointed. As a former resident of Kongsvinger I happen to know that this used to be the very best Hotel in the town. It can now only be described as 'tired'. The staff were courteous, but not especially customer oriented. Room was comfortable, but not what I expected of a higher end hotel. The sauna was good, but the pool was very cold. Breakfast on day 1 was interesting as the yoghurt placed on the buffet had gone off. Not the very best advertisement for Kongsvinger.

Good restaurant and service, but the room was not up to scratch

The restaurant impressed with both good food and excellent service, and the staff was very nice – both in the restaurant and at the reception. However, the room did not quite live up to expectations, especially considering the price. What drew the experience down the most was the bathroom and toilet, which felt outdated and substandard. Such a room would have been acceptable if the price had been significantly lower, but for close to 2000 kr per night you expect a higher standard. Rooms in this condition should be taken out of use and renovated before they are rented out.

Perfect for girl trip!

Perfect hotel for girl trip to Kongsvinger. We were welcomed by pleasant and serviceminded service. It was nice and clean rooms. We got double room for single room price. Great breakfast and dinner. Overall a positive experience, so this hotel we can warmly recommend.
