Relaxing week with stunning views
We spent a week at Kresten Royal on May 2025. The overall experience was close to 5 stars, but some little details made me set 4. Reception was friendly and helpfull on every occasion we needed help.
Hotel facilities are nice, clean and there are good variety of how to spend your day. I would deffinetely suggest taking the morning yoga lessons with Anasa Yoga. Wonderfull way to star the day. Also the hotel gym has enough variety for good work out.
We had a treatment at Ageo Spa as well. The prices are quite expensive, but the quality of massage is superb. If visiting ask Inna to be your therapist. One of the best I ever visited.
And then the food. Food overall was delicious. Especially the dinners we made reservation for. My recommendation is to use this possibility. Main restaurant Gaia was some mornings and evening very crowded and the staff had difficulties keeping up: missing tableware etc. This is one of the reasons for only 4 stars. We solved the issue by eating earlier breakfast and chancing the dinner for the other restaurants available. The hotel app worked very well with the bookings.
We had a junior suite with own pool. If possible book a room like that. Nice views and own sunbeds. Also a possibility to VIP breakfast which was really nice. There was always room by the pools also. Pool areas are clean and service very good. Tea at the Aura pool restaurant is super nice.

A Pleasant Stay
I stayed at this hotel from the 3rd - 10th May 2025 in room 150 and had a wonderful sea view room, connected to the main building. Following my previous trips to Rhodes I have seen the outside of this hotel multiple times and finally gave it a chance for my first solo holiday. The welcome was lacking majorly, there were 2 people at reception, one member of staff was occupied with guests already and the other was busy with paperwork, I formed a queue to be served and another guest came to stand behind me, the other member of staff then decided to serve the guest who was behind me first and I was told that I could wait. This was the only rude member of staff I encountered during my stay and after a long day travelling, all I wanted to do was check into my room as quickly as possible. When I was finally invited to the reception desk to check in, nothing was explained, I was told the snack bar was open, I wasn’t told where to find it or how to find the restaurant for the evening meal. I have stayed at multiple 5* hotels and for a 5* hotel the welcome could be improved, a welcome drink and a proper explanation of the hotel map would be appreciated.
My check-in experience was the complete opposite of the rest of my stay, every other member of staff was so polite, friendly and helpful during my stay. Every other member of the reception team are very approachable and helped when I was trying to arrange the shuttle bus into Rhodes Town. The rooms are basic but they were clean, spacious, plenty of storage and plug sockets, with a large bathroom and hairdryer. I did find the bath very high to climb into, I am on the shorter side but if you have mobility issues this is something to consider.
I can’t praise the food enough at this hotel, wow just wow, I have never had such fresh and flavoursome food at an all include, the main buffet was the only proper restaurant I used, the majority of the food was covered and felt very sanitary, I didn’t see a kids buffet section during my stay but there was always pasta, chips, salad etc available so even picky eaters wouldn’t go without. My compliments go to the chefs in the main buffet and the snack bar by the pool, I never went hungry at this hotel and I had the pleasure of trying new foods and of course divine desserts. I never struggled to get a space around the pool, the pool near the snack bar is quite a steep decline from the main hotel but it is worth it, you can hear music from the bar and the aqua gym/zumba happens in that pool (the pool was absolutely freezing but I appreciate that I did go very early in the season, so the sun wasn’t quite strong enough to warm the pool). The pool was a good depth, not too deep and around waist height on most people.
I did visit the spa a couple of times during my stay, it was expensive but I always treat myself whilst I’m on holiday. The treatments were ok, I have had better but they were still relaxing and everyone in the spa is so lovely. The staff from the spa do walk around the pool daily which I do find very repetitive especially as I had already booked twice, I don’t find it necessary for them to walk around the pool area daily, especially as guests can book via the QR code and of course visit the spa reception or catch them outside the restaurant on some evenings.
I would return to this hotel as the positives outweighed any small negatives I experienced and I did have a beautiful stay. Please don’t forget the tourist tax whilst visiting and remember that this is a 5* hotel so you will be paying the maximum amount, my 7 night stay was €105 which is paid on check-in.

Relaxing Stay, Just Shy of 5-Star Standard
This is a lovely hotel with great facilities that felt very close to 5 stars, but a few things made it closer to 4 for us.
The pools are great with plenty of sunbeds with no stress or rush to get one. We made the most of it by using the pool areas and still enjoyed the sun and lovely sea views. The private beach is quite small and isn't sandy, but we didn't use it as it was windy the whole week we were there, so stayed in the pool areas.
We had a sea view room which was a nice addition. Unfortunately, there was a speaker on the patio below our balcony which played music until almost midnight every night, unless we called the reception to ask them to turn it off, which we had to do for 2 of the 7 nights we were there. They were quick to assist, but it'd be great if it was turned off much earlier, especially when there were so few people sat in the patio area. The room also had two single beds pushed together with separate sheets, it'd be nice to have an option to have a proper double bed. The room was fantastic otherwise.
The food was delicious. We didn't reserve any of the restaurants and had trouble accessing the 'app' (website) to even view the menu, it just said it was unavailable. We ate in the main restaurant every day. It was nice that the food was different each day and lots of choice to please everyone. The staff would take our drink orders and then occasionally not bring them, likely due to how busy it was in there. Otherwise, the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is in a great location -- around 25 minutes from the airport via taxi and 15 to Rhodes Old Town. The reception staff called a taxi for us, and it arrived very quickly.
I appreciate that the hotel offers a spa service, but they were regularly trying to upsell this, which was a little annoying at times. Perhaps if there was a price list, then people would book this, rather than being asked each day if they'd like to book it.
The food at the pool bar was so nice and having lunch there was a huge plus, the freshly made crêpes were a great afternoon sweet treat and the bar staff there were very attentive, remembering our orders after two days. There was an eagle sound sometimes in that bar, the mystery of where it came from perplexes me, but I liked it. It's a bit frustrating that smoking is allowed in the pool bar area as it's sort of half indoors, half outdoors, but we didn't appreciate inhaling smoke while we were eating our lunch.
Overall, great hotel, but would expect more for a 5* hotel.

Best Hotel I've stayed at
Lovely hotel, Great beds, the food was amazing in the restaurant Good position for Rhodes Town. Friendly staff and large rooms.
Only slight concerns were that the rooms were not ready for occupancy as had had work done but not finished, Housekeeping were hit and miss as regards the cleaning and poorly lit at night to get back to your room.
Having said that we had a lovely holiday and will certainly return
